Chuo Kikuu cha Dar es Salaam (UDSM) kinatoa programu mbalimbali za shahada ya kwanza (degree) katika fani tofauti. Kwa mujibu wa taarifa rasmi kutoka UDSM, kuna jumla ya programu 65 za shahada ya kwanza zinazotolewa kupitia vitivo na vyuo vyake mbalimbali .(University of Dar es Salaam)

Programu nyingi huchukua miaka 3 hadi 4 kukamilika.
Baadhi ya programu zinatolewa kwa mfumo wa jioni (Evening Programmes) au kwa njia ya masomo kwa umbali (Distance Learning) kwa ajili ya wanafunzi wanaofanya kazi au wenye majukumu mengine.
Vigezo vya kujiunga hutofautiana kulingana na programu husika, lakini kwa ujumla huhitaji ufaulu wa masomo ya sekondari ya juu (ACSEE) au diploma inayotambulika.
